Summary[]
Haruo and the rest of his class, despite not opening in a few months, are forced to clean the pool area. He overhears two fellow students talking about the new Final Fansty coming to the Super Nintendo, Haruo butt's in and talks with them about how the TubroGrafx - 16 is superior to the SNES and how it's the latest technology that surpassed it 3 years ago. When the students leave him, Akira approaches Haruo wanting to learn about the TubroGrafx - 16 as she herelf has never heard or can have never have one. Doi approaches Haruo and reproves him for talking to the "classroom's prized flower". Doithen asks Akira to go see a movie with him, only to be flatly rejected by her. The teacher appears and threatens to kick Akira's butt for slacking off and Haruo blames Akira for this. In retaliation, Akira soaks Haruo and instead of reprimanding Akira for her misconduct, the teacher allows it because, "she's cute".
The following day At Haruo's home, Haruo catches a cold and making him unable to attend school, Ono also stays stay's in class so the teacher has no choice but to send her to deliver his work. As Haruo groans about needing a new ice pack and wanting a hug, Akira enters his room. Her presence perturbs Haruo and his mother explains she's there to deliver his schoolwork. Although Haruo wants Akira out of his house, his mother serves her some pancakes, hence, she gleefully enjoys. Haruo's mother then leaves to go shopping, but not before obviously spying on the two, prompting Haruo to snap at her to get lost.
Now alone in his room with Akira, Haruo allows her to play the TubroGrafx - 16 called "China Warrior". Haruo gives her a tip on its gameplay and states that when she's done she has to leave. Noticing that Akira's gameplay skills are sub-par compared to her skills in the arcade, Haruo asks what game systems she has at home. Tacitly, Akira answers that she has none at her home, which surprises Haruo. However, he figures due to her sophisticated background games are shunned upon. Therefore, Haruo offers Akira to play two other games of his, "Hucard" or "R-Type 1". Akira chooses to play R-Type 1 first and then Hucard; sequentially she plays "Vigilante", "Wonder Momo". Furthermore, Haruo names other TubroGrafx games like "Altered Beast", "Bonk", Darius, Kiki KaiKai, and Splatterhouse. Going on a tirade about the awesomeness of the TubroGrafx, Haruo elaborates on the Sub-TubroGrafx game systems, the TurboExpress and CoreGrafx. Finally, Haruo suggests that Akira play "The Genji and the Heike Clans" game. Having Akira play this game causes Haruo to snap and want to play the game himself and then tries to snatch the controller away from her. At that moment, Haruo's mother arrives back home, and hearing Haruo's loud voice she suplexes Haruo and wrestles him to the floor.
Back at school, Haruo relishes the fact he's exempt from swimming in the pool. On the other hand, Akira starts to splash water on Akira in hopes to get him sick again so she can play more TubroGrafx games at his house.
