Summary[]

Ma-kun has an abrasive confrontation with a gamer over his gaming loss. Genta sits idly by, watching as it plays out and then notices that Kōtarō is not by his side anymore. Meanwhile, Koharu tries to strike a conversation with the tacit Akira, so Kōtarō steps in to help break the ice. Koharu then asks Akira for a match, but Kōtarō dissuades them from doing that as there's a scuffle between Ma-kun and another player. Out of nowhere, an exuberant Genta butts in on the conversation and vows to win some candy for Akira, but only manages to win a tiny piece for her at a candy game. During a game of basketball hoops between Genta and Akira, Koharu asks Akira about Haruo, causing her to fumble the ball into her face.

Akira then starts to play a game of Virtua Cop and Koharu joins her. As the two play together, Koharu notes the disparity in gameplay skills between them. During the gameplay, Koharu asks Akira more about what she thinks about Haruo going as far as to note his developed inferiority complex toward her. Being asked these things, Akira's gameplay slips as she shoots civilians during the match. It's when Koharu insinuates that she'll make a move on Haruo if Akira doesn't, Akira's gameplay skills dramatically improve. Later the group separates from each other as Koharu laments over her time with Akira at the arcade.

At her mansion, Akira is reprimanded by her tutor Moemi for going to an arcade center. Although her butler Jīya tries to defend her, he's shot down as Moemi considers Akira's actions as a form of delinquency. As an act of discipline, Moemi enforces a 4:00 pm curfew for Akira, much to Jīya's dismay.

Continuing his "training" at home, Haruo begins to play with the Neo-Geo he borrowed from one of his friends. Convinced that with the skills he'll gain from training from the game console that'll blow Koharu out of the water. Haruo is distraught by the system's long loading time. Back at Akira's mansion, Akira tosses and turns in her sleep over what Moemi's didactic attitude and Koharu's questions about Haruo.

In July of 1997, Haruo searches for Akira at an arcade location, but doesn't find her. He later runs into Koharu who notes that he's regained his arcade skills. When Haruo challenges her to a game, Koharu refuses, much to his chagrin. Time passes by and Haruo continues his daily life, until he runs into Jīya who informs him that Akira has gone missing. Jīya also informs Haruo of the curfew imposed on her and at his mother's command, goes around town searching for Akira. His search leads him to Kawasaki where after some time searching there, he hears about a player with a 70 consecutive win. Unbeknownst to Akira, she's challenged by Haruo to a match in Dark Stalkers and after she wins the match, Haruo reveals himself to her. They then go out for a bite to eat together.
