Round 22 is the twenty-second episode of the Hi Score Girl (anime).
Netflix Synopsis[]
Akira keeps her impending move to Los Angeles a secret. In Osaka, she and Haruo spend their time on the eve of the tournament in various arcades.
Summary[]
To pass the time, Haruo and Akira play a numeral animal spotting game, where the loser is tickled. In the end, Akira wins.
A flashback showing Moemi, disclosing her change of heart by the ways her parents are directing Akira's life. Back in the present, Haruo and Akira arrive in Osaka. Because they arrived a day early before the tournament, Haruo suggests they go check out the arcades in the area. However, Akira is notably hungry, so they get some Takoyaki. After this, they head to the arcade center in Osaka and there play Last Bronx together and then a SF II game. Afterward, they go to a couple of other arcade centers, and in one called Ferrari, Haruo is mortified by his loss against Akira in Dark Stalkers 2. Akira goes onto play other gamers at the arcade, so Haruo and Akira then play a co-op game of Die Hard Arcade together.
Eventually, a trio of cops known as the "Dynamite cops" arrives at the arcade center. They proclaim that since it's past 10:00 pm anyone underage people there will be taken and spanked. Absconding from the arcade, Akira and Haruo then head to a hotel where they stay there for the night. Bored out of his mind in his own room and lamenting the fact that he didn't bring any game console with him. He then contemplates his chances of making it to the final round in the tournament the following day. Haruo, eventually, hears Akira from her side of the room. He asks if Akira's doing alright and hopes that a ghost isn't in her room, going as far as to mention to check behind the picture hanging in her room for one. As it turns out, there was a spirit warding talisman in the back of the picture in her room.
Because of this incident, Akira stays in Haruo's room, and the two sleep in the same bed together.
