Round 23 is the twenty-third episode of the Hi Score Girl (anime).
Netflix Synopsis[]
The tournament begins with Haruo running on very little sleep. After he advances in his own match, he's dumbfounded by Akira's results.
Summary[]
While trying to go to sleep, Haruo is tantalized by Akira first by being tickled by her, then by what seems like a lovely moment, he's sequentially bitten by her. After this scene with each other, they try to or at least Hauro tries to go to sleep.
The day of the SF II Turbo tournament arrives and tensions are hot between the contending players there. Sitting together against a wall, Haruo complains that he wasn't able to sleep due to Akira's pestering. Akira tries to claim that she too didn't sleep, but Haruo calls her out for the bald-faced lie. Due to the tournament being separated into separate divisions from A-F, Haruo was assigned into the C Division while Akira is in the F one.
With that in mind, Haruo and Akira go their separate ways and Haruo starts his first match against Kato. The very same person he first went up against in the last tournament. Kato adamant to have his revenge against is handily beaten by Haruo much to his chagrin. Up next is Yamada who puts up a great effort against Haruo, but in the end, he's still beaten by Haruo. Finished with his side of the tournament, Haruo then checks up on how Akira is doing. As it turns out, Akira lost in her first match.
Outside in the hallway of the tournament, Akira laments over her loss in the tournament, as the various characters she plays as try and console her. Rejuvenated by the rekindling words by her main gaming characters goes onto play in the consolation rounds and wins every single match. This allows Akira to partake in the finals round again with Haruo. In the end, the two make it to the finals together and face off against one another.
