Round 24 is the twenty-fourth episode of the Hi Score Girl (anime).
Netflix Synopsis[]
Akira and Haruo face off in the tournament's final round. Months later, Haruo hasn't recovered and Akira's departure nears. Then Makoto comes to visit.
Summary[]
Haruo faces off against Akira in the tournament and loses against her. Months pass by and his loss against Akira deeply scars him, as he no longer frequents arcade centers. The change in Haruo's attitude is noted by Kōtarō and Genta who are then pestered by Chihiro.
At his home, Haruo is visited by Makoto. She informs him that her sister Akira will be heading to L.A. soon and Makoto blames herself for the situation Akira's in. Seeing Makoto off, she gives Haruo a tiny envelope, inside of it was the Toy Ring that he won and gave to Akira.
On July 24th, Akira and Makoto are driven to the airport by Jīya. There, Akira is lead to her flight by Jīya, two men in black suits, Moemi, and her sister Makoto. Meanwhile, Haruo is reprimanded by his mother for refusing to see Akira off at the airport. Haruo goes for a walk and by Hidaka Mart, he runs into Koharu now sporting a shorter hair cut. They talk about how Akira is going to head overseas again and her match again Akira. Furthermore, Akira perhaps unconsciously went to visit, Koharu at her shop right before her trip with Osaka with Haruo. She then says, to not look upon Akira with disdain, and reveals that she fell in love with Haruo in front of her shop. Haruo then confesses his love for Akira and then reveals that he'll go to an arcade to play some games. This causes Koharu to snap at Haruo and inspire him to go after Akira before she leaves for L.A.. Returning home to get on his scooter, Akira manages to make it to the airport only to learn he didn't make it in time. However, due to the plane, Akira was on experienced extreme turbulence, she returns to the airport lobby where Haruo and her embrace each other. Haruo then confesses his feelings toward Akira and returns the Toy ring he gave her. With that, Akira heads off on her airplane to L.A. as Haruo and the other see her off.
