It's year three for the students and Koharu learns that she's in the same class as Haruo. The man in question, is pestered by Kōtarō to see if he wants to see the transfer student in Classroom A. Haruo rejects the offer and after school heads to the mall to play with the game machines there. Koharu approaches him and they talk about how the latest SF II game is set up there. Due to his impatience, Haruo and Koharu leave the mall and head to the local arcade. Once a Street Fighter II machine frees up Haruo plays it and wins 12 consecutive matches. Right when Numata arrives at the place, Koharu takes over for Haruo, while he hides in the bathroom. Somehow, Koharu manages to win the game Haruo left off with. Sequentially, Koharu is challenged by the 21 consecutive games winner and loses against her. Right after the match, the consecutive winner is lead out of the place by her chauffer.
Afterward, Koharu discloses everything to Haruo about her loss. Although he doesn't mind about losing his win streak, he's ecstatic to learn about a hidden character. His exuberance causes him to rush outside of the game center and sequentially get hit by a familiar car.
Haruo and his classmates are stuck with cleaning duty around the school. While outside, Haruo and Kōtarō are approached by Chihiro who mentions that Akira has returned. However, Haruo is seemingly apathetic Akira's return. Close to dusk, Haruo heads to a few arcade centers looking for Akira. As he does this he notes how gaming has evolved in recent years and ponders how much Akira has evolved in her gaming skills. It's at the same arcade where Haruo first meet Akira, there's a girl there with a 104 win streak that only uses Zangief. That girl of course was Akira. Therefore, Haruo then tries to face off against her, but she decides to play Final Fight and Haruo joins her in co-op. Akira plays the game as if she has she has a vendetta against Haruo and it makes him realizes that if he did face off against her, he wouldn't stand a chance. Once they complete the game, Akira is picked up by Jīya who mentions that Moemi is having a fit back at the Mansion.
Enroute to her home, it's revealed that she still has the ring Haruo gave her when she left to study abroad.
